ENTHUSIASTIC MATH & SCIENCE TUTOR:

The Job: Tutoring Club of Lake Forest is preparing for its grand opening, and we are seeking enthusiastic instructors who specialize in tutoring math and language arts to all students. Proficiency with classes like Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and/or Calculus are a must. The ability to tutor SAT/ACT is a bonus, but not a requirement.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Coaching and guiding students to meet their academic goals

· Tutoring multiple subjects effectively

· Strengthening students’ study habits and identifying how each student learns best

· Motivating students who need that extra oomph

· Working with up to three students at a time

· Being engaging, nimble, and professional

· Keeping detailed records of tutoring sessions

· Attending team meetings and other Tutoring Club events

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university (OR currently enrolled in a degree program leading to a bachelor’s degree)

· 1+ years of previous tutoring experience (previous teaching experience is not required, but is a plus)

-Prior experience with Statistics, Physics, or Chemistry is preferred

· Reliable transportation

· Ability to work at least 10 hours from the following: Monday through Thursday from 3pm to 8pm, and Saturday from 9am to 1pm

· Ability to commit to one year with Tutoring Club
